Bicarbonate of soda has many uses, here are just a few:
By simply mixing a paste with water and bicarb you can remove stubborn stains from cookers, worktops and floors. Water marks from baths, stubborn stains in the toilet and stains on pans will all remove with this mixture, for very stubborn stains simply use more Bicarb. Chrome comes up clean and shiny with Bicarb applied on a damp cloth. Be careful on very delicate surfaces, as the mixture is abrasive and might leave scratches.
Bicarbonate can be added to your laundry dispenser to brighten whites and will remove sweat,odours from fabrics.
For body care
Bicarbonate of Soda is an ingredient of bath bombs. A small amount used with your regular shampoo will leave your hair clean and healthy. It can also be used to make skin cleanser, body scrubs and deodorant.
Bicarbonate of Soda has deodorising properties. It can be added to the nappy bucket to eliminate the smell of urine in the house. When placed in a suitable container it will remove odours from the fridge and kitchen cupboards, after a few months this bicarb can then be recycled and used to clean with or used to put down the sink with boiling water to descale pipework. Bicarbonate of Soda can also help to eliminate bad odours from kitchen bins.
Bicarbonate of Soda added to bath water can help to relieve itching caused by chicken pox. When mixed to a paste with water can be applied to insect bites to relieve discomfort.
