Postage and Packing
New Royal Mail Charges: Royal Mail has now increased not only their prices but have also reduced the size of the parcels that they are willing to carry, this has resulted in some of our postal charges having to double. We are still getting used to the changes and you will note that the prices on the site have increased, some very light items due to their size are costing a very high amount to post, this is beyond our control. Where the site charges far too much for a delivery when we actually post the item we will refund the excess over and above what the postage, packaging and other expenses actually cost.
Postage is calculated by the website based on weight and size and delivery area so we do not have a set delivery cost. We use Royal Mail and DPD. The website will calculate delivery costs for all post codes in England, Wales, some parts of Scotland and the Isle of Wight. Orders weighing above 2kg is charged at £6.99 for up to 27kg of products. Please use the estimate shipping button for delivery costs.
These post codes are all classed as offshore and DPD charge £22.00 per box: FK17-21: IV: KW0-14, KW 15 -99: PA20 -99: PH17- 99: AB 36- 38, AB 55 - 56: HS1-9, KA27-28: KW: PA20- 99: ZE, GY, BT, IM and EI Courier delivery £22.00. Royal Mail options are available for parcels weighing up to 20kg.
Postcodes BT, IM, will cost £22.00 for courier deliveries, however, depending on the weight of your order we may be able to find a cheaper alternative for up to 15kg of products. Royal Mail can also be selected for the BT post code.
Deliveries to The republic of Ireland excluding the carriage of white vinegar and some larger containers of liquids: Courier rate £20.00. Small light items can be sent via Royal Mail, please contact us for prices if your items weigh less than 2kg..
We no longer ship outside of the UK except for the Republic of Ireland, please see our courier rate above.
Important details: Please note that Courier deliveries require a signature, however we will request that your parcel be left in a safe place BUT Summer Naturals can not be held responsible for parcels that may be stolen or damaged where a signature has not been obtained.
Summer Naturals cannot be held responsible for parcels that have had attempted deliveries and returned to a courier depot and where contact with the courier company is not made within three days of the first delivery attempt. Please note that parcels returned to a depot and not collected/ re-delivery arranged within 3 working days may be returned to us and will incur a return charge of £12.00. Where an item is returned undamaged and due to non collection, a refund less postage costs and any costs will be refunded back to you..
Parcels leave us in good condition, where details have not been left for a "safe" delivery place and parcels are returned for redelivery they are prone to damage, this is mainly due to the nature and weight of the products that we sell. Summer Naturals can not be responsible for parcels that are damaged after a delivery has been attampted and failed.
Processing and postage time
Please allow a 3 working day processing time and a further 2 to 3 working days postage time depending on which service you have selected. We do work as quickly as we can and do aim to have your order with you within one week of ordering. If you live in a remote part of the UK, delivery may take longer to arrive. ( please see notice below ). Larger parcels posted with the courier should be delivered within 48 hours. If your order is urgent, please email us and we will try to do all we can to get it to you as quickly as possible. You may select 24 hour delivery but this is delivery time which follows a processing time. Orders placed on a Friday will not be delivered until Monday where a 24 hour service has been selected.
Insurance and when things go wrong
In the very unlikely event of a parcel being lost please contact me. I will have the postage details and proof of postage required to file a claim with Royal Mail or the courier company that we have dispatched with. If it is found that Royal mail are not responsible for the reported loss where a fraudulent claim may have been made, insurance will not be recovered. I can not be held responsible in this event.
In order to process all deliveries, it is important that you give your full and correct address including full post code. We follow the clear address policy. Parcels can not be posted without a full post code. Please also notw that Summer Naturals can not be responsible for parcels being delivered to a worong address where the wrong address details have been provided.
Please contact us if you are aware that your postcode is in a Royal Mail problem delivery area.
Packaging and the environment
Because recycling is very important we try our very best to re-use packaging, we have an agreement with a local shopkeeper, we collect his used boxes and use them to package your orders so don't be surprised if your order arrives in a crisp box. By doing this we save the grocer a trip to the tip therefor reducing fuel emissions, it reduces all of the energy that would have been used when recycling those boxes and helps to keep the cost of packaging to a minimum. Where possible we will try to avoid using plastic although when we do it will almost certainly be pre used, unfortunately it is sometimes necessary in order to protect your order in transit.
