Indigo Powder

Indigo Powder (various quantities)  

This blue indigo powder is used as a soap colourant, our current batch of this is a slightly lighter shade then it is in the image shown.

The powder works well when added to the lye solution but good results have resulted from the indigo being added at trace. 

Gelling your soap will give a better result with colours ranging from a duck egg blue to a dark blue depending on the amount of powder used. 

Mix the indigo with a little lye water and leave for 24 hours and then add at trace.
